Has anyone used the AMSoil marine gear lube for their lower unit? I have always paid to have mine done, but was going to do it myself this time. What is the capacity on a 1999 merc 225efi? Any pointers? It is sold in a regular quart container.
Thanks

I have a 1998 Merc 225 EFI. I'm pretty sure the capacity is 24 ozs. I have no experience with Amsoil yet. I would be interested in hearing that also.

The AGM Marine gear lube is also available in a handy squeeze tube as well, but you will save money buying it in the quarts, we also carry hand pumps that may make it easier to put in. Not sure on capacities, but it should be somewhere in your manual for the motor, if you don't have one, give AMSOIL tech services a call, you will find their direct line at amsoil.com Our distribution Center is in Arlington, so if you can make it here, you will also save on shipping, unless you have a local dealer to pick it up for you. The best dealer in your area is Thomas Wofford of freedom lube in Wichita Falls on Holliday st. BOB
