We fished a small company tournament on Toledo this past Saturday. We started at 6am on a main lake point on the south bank of Mill Creek. We had 4 keepers before 7 am on texas rigged baby brush hogs, watermelon candy / red. My dad had the 5th keeper on and it pulled off right at the boat b4 i could net it. Then a couple casts later, I had the 5th keeper on...a nice one about 4 pounds. It got to the boat and made one last dive before my line broke!! I was soo pissed! The rocks must have caused a bad spot in my line. The sun popped out and the big bite slowed down. We started catching alot of kentucky's. We then made a run up to six mile and fished the first point and cove on the north bank at the mouth of six mile. We didn't catch anything on the point, but caught quite a few throwbacks in the cove. We were throwing christmas tree senkos way back in the new grass. We would just work the senko on top of the grass and they were blowing up on it...just no size. We came back down to a hump at the mouth of Buck Creek. We finally caught the 5th keeper at 1 pm on the texas rigged baby brush hog. We stayed there and caught a few more but didn't get to upgrade much. We wound up with 8 large mouth keepers and 8 kentucky's. Our 5 biggest weighed 9 lbs even. First place in the tournament was 12.76lbs w/a 4.90 big bass.
