Never used Quantum, are those reels any good?

i absolutly love em, i know alot of people/pros that love em too, i would stick witht he enegys for the price but if your a big baller go with the tours they are un real...

they also dont need the maintence the others doo(revos) this is what i have heard any ways?

personally i would never own a quantum, but i've had some bad experiences

ive got two energy's and love both of em...have an accurist too and i dont think you can beat it for the price.

I got 3 quantum reels last year during christmas... 2 Codes and a PT...By spring break I had to return both of the codes one for just completely locking up on me and the other the drag seemed to constantly slip. Then on the PT i was flipping a jig at houston county and set the hook on a 6-7 lb fish and the side plate of the reel just popped off and fell in the water. Like I said i know a lot of guys like quantum and KVD fishes with them but personally I won't own another. I'll stick with shimano and abu garcia

How many ball bearings does that reel on special have?

i believe the accurist pt is a 5 ball bearing reel...i got 4 of them and like em so far...smooth and good distance on your cast

Great deal! I've used Quantum for years and won't use any other reel. I had a problem with one a few years ago and Quantum had a replacement to me in only a few days. Excellent customer service.

My Academy only has the saltwater version in stock. It is high speed 7:1. I wonder if this would make a good reel for heavy stuff like frog fishin and flippin.

i use a 7:1 energy PT for my frog reel, its just fine. im gonna check out academy today.
