So I have started trying to widen my repertoire with some Jigs and tubes. I was always under the impression that tubes were supposed to mimick a crawdad. I rigged mine Texas style with a couple beads and jerked it across the bottom. Is this the best method or am I completely wrong?

I am still trying diff. things. I swim mine, bump bottom and throw on top of grass.

For me they mostly mimic a shad. Depending on the wind I can use it weightless. When it falls it may spiral or zigzag down. Like a dyeing minnow/shad. Sometimes rigged texas plus weight I like to pitch it at something, let it fall, hop it hard up and let it fall again. Next cast next object. Some might even throw it to cover, let it fall off and watch the line. Throw it on the bank and drag it fast over the top like a running minnow, then just let it fall. Lots of ways.

Tubes are deadly with weight inside. Lift & fall, spiral, never falls the same place twice.

You can fish it like a worm. Some will cast and reel like a swimbait and it is effective.
