Where is there a good night fishing spot in the Brazoria and Galveston County area?

San luis pass would be a great spot to spend the night and fish.

We went to Surfside yesterday and hit the jetty. Spanish mack's were pounding shrimp. We made a good haul. They were still popping as of this afternoon when we left for home.
A word to the wise isn't necessary. It's the stupid ones that need advice.

The Surfside jetty is an excellent night fishing spot. When the water's green and the wind isn't kickin too much, you can see a lot of folks with their generators fired up and lights on the water. It is particularly good after a very heavy rain. All the freshwater chases the trout out of the old river channel and the intercoastal so the fish hang out around the jetty waiting for the water to get salty again. After tropical storm Allison, we caught and released trout until we were tired of catching them. When we went home, the bite was still on hot and heavy.

I've always fish SLP for a good night time bite. Catch it on a changing tide for the best results. An incoming tide has always been better for me there. The jetty is good at night if you have a generator that you can haul out there. Its a pain in the butt to haul all that stuff out there. When the tide is up and the old river is salty, there are several spots in Freeport harbor that you can fish under lights.
If you want to bank fish, you might as well wade the South shore at Christmas bay.
If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.
In a world of compromise.....Some don't.

I love the freeport jetty, mostly when people are catching, you know, when the locals say "dude fish the jetty's, its going off"! Then I grab my Yak and cruz up and down the rocks, following the chad balls. Simple silver spoons work best for me at these times. Yes!!! the freeport jetty's can be very productive! You can even watch how the trout, and spanish mac's move north and south. Based on people getting bowed up! Ever wounder why people on the rocks cast away, and people in boats cast towards.
