Had a family outing on fairfield today, Got a late start didnt get on the water till around 9am. Used the north ramp, which worked great as long as you stay in the creek channel to pick your riders up. Enough water for an easy launch/load. Fish were pretty consistant all day for the most part, had a lull period from about 11am till about 1:30pm. Other than that graph stayed pretty much lit up all day. Not any broken records, majority of fish were 18in-22in, with an ocassional 26in-28incher throwed into the mix. Kids had blast, Drifting shrimp in 30-35ft of water. Real exciting when you make drift and all your bait poles go off at same time, then wrap around each other, and your wife and kids running in circles trying to land the fish grin

I bet that was fun. Thanks for sharing it. The picks are cool.

Well done, it was a tough day for most trollers. Some zeroed, some almost zeroed, like me. Lesson learned don't be too stubborn to change ones chosen starting technique, for a few seemingly good reasonings no matter who offers them.

Some point fishermen using live and cut shad did well that evening. He swore heeding the solunar tables is his reds go-to secret.

I started out trolling, Snagged a couple here and there, then the screen did what i call a "BLACK OUT" so i stopped and starting drifting and it keep producing, had to move several times throughtout the day to find them. I trolled a couple more times when the wind would quit to cool off a little.

I am thinking about going there tomorrow. It would be my first trip there.
I have some crank baits I can troll. I can throw a cast net from the bank pretty good, and/or I can stop and pick up some catfish type shrimp, the kind in a white box.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
