I grew up fishing my mom's pond. it had no catfish in it. i would love to try to cat some catfish. where is a good place to go? What should i use for bait? i see these postings of HUGE catfish and would like to get one of my own. I never keep my fish so dont worry i will put it back. i will take a picture though. i dont have a boat so i would be fishing from the bank

I second Tarponfly. They are hitting everything right now. I was catching them on purple jig under a bobber the other day. You can't keep them off your line. I had actually switched to see if I could catch something other then a cat. No luck. But who is complaining, a fish is a fish!

we only went less than 100 yards from the boat ramp next to the tx queen. didnt even go further. a guy was fishing on the bank and was not catching anything, but he had no clue what he was doing. tuesday i have a client that want to hit them..... so we will be able to cover a bit more water next time...... we had to drift to catch them. they were not thick in just one spot......

They stock Chisholm Park Pond in Hurst on a regular basis, and they bite pretty good the day after they are stocked on cut shad or hot dogs. They're mostly pretty small but I did see a guy catch a 7 pounder on a hot dog a few years ago, so anything's possible.

Took the 11 year old out today with some cut bait on Ray Hubbard near the Harbor. I literally never got a pole in the water myself. He was catching cats and small drum to fast. Now as a note they weren't huge in size but most topped about a pound. He had a blast and so did I. I would rather watch him catch all day and I just get a sun burn!
