Headed to PINS this coming Wednesday. Has anyone been down lately? Any recent reports?

We are all experienced surf fishermen but would love to hear any input from the pros out there. We are planning to make the journey to the Mansfield Jetties if conditions allow.

I have also heard good things about Yarbrough Pass at the 15mm for bay fishing. If my math is correct, this is a map of the end of the blacktop to the entrance of Yarbrough.

It looks to be a pretty decent drive once you cross the dunes to get to the water. Has anyone made that drive? You will see where the road over the dunes is compared to that of what looks to be launch spots. Is this where most people launch? Any suggestions for fishing the area?

I've never fished on the bay side of the island, much less Yarborough Pass. I will say this though, DO NOT GET CAUGHT DRIVING IN THE DUNES. Stick to the "road" and you'll be fine.

I recently read that PINS just implemented some new rules that include a 15 mph speed limit. It will be heavily enforced this time of year because of turtle nesting. Doing the math, if you travel 15 mph it will take you 8 hours to get to Mansfield. FYI. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Here's a much more PINS-intensive board: http://nickawaymedia.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=004656b47ea0ec8152eace03b9969cef
There's an 05 May post up with photos . . . including a specific area you're asking about.

Sounds like an adventure. Best of luck.

Please give us a report when you get back. I would like to know how the fishing was and the driving conditions/trash. Thanks!
