CLTX11,
Who does this describe?.....A short time after coming onto the board sending PM's to me and others asking advice on which yak to buy, this guy is suddenly is an expert on every aspect of kayaking. And because he either USED to go or might go in the future to Texas rivers to fish/camp, he knows about all of that too.

Is this why you took offense to what Shane said? I think that he is right in asking others to take the time to post a trip reports. It's good for the board. But I can see why that might offend you....

IMO this attitude is one of the reasons things have went wrong on that "other" board. Several of the guys on there KNOW everything, but SHOW nothing. I used to be one of that FW board's biggest supporters, but within the last few months...I'm out. Too much off-topic, rough-fish, food-network talk over there for me anymore. Hopefully this will change one day, because it's a great place....when it's run right.

Being that I have fished with Shane before...
I did not take offense in his interest in wanting to see what we caught.
I know it is good for our site to have pictures included in the reports. Not because everyone needs proof that you caught what you said you caught, but it makes these threads more interesting.

Yoda does a great job posting "Narratives" of his trips that we all cant wait to read. But I also know he uses this site to drum up business. Who wouldnt in his shoes? I am not trying to make this my living, therefore dont expect a great novel from me.

When BA gets the pics off his camera they will be posted ASAP.
I never meant my report to sound like we were showing off or bragging. We werent. In fact, we were both Brazos virgins heading in. I was only meaning to let everyone know what a great time we had and that we managed to escape the storms that weekend. Period.
This doesnt have to be a d%$* measuring contest.

I know nobody asked me, but talking down to or bad about others over the internet is very childish. Everybody is a tough guy when at a keyboard and at a looking computer screen. There is no reason to highjack threads about somebody elses trip because you personally don't like somebody that posted in it. There is also no reason to talk down to somebody and question their trip because they haven't posted pictures. Some people go fishing because they like fishing and being outdoors, not just to take a picture of every fish they catch to post on the internet. We all come to this site to talk fishing, learn, exchange ideas and opinions, and sometimes to brag about a good day fishing! Sure everyone likes to see pics of nice fish but there is no need to talk down to others that don't post pics of their trips.

Well there are my 2 cents

Can't we all just get along! Ha Ha

I don't even take a camera with me in my yak, don't take pics unless my son catches fish, and those pics are taken at home. Have plenty of pics from my younger years but unless it's something very special, I don't take pics. To each his own

I don't even own a digital camera. I have successfully posted photos using photobucket before but can't remember my password any more. Posting photos is time consuming and a pain in the but and for those of us who find the computer to be a necessary evil it could be not worth it. I found some of the posts in this thread to be ill mannered on both ends and if photos do get posted I would suggest it be on a new thread.

I don't have all the answers, but I'm a quick learner!
