Every time I get onto U tube, I see something I had no clue about.
This angler just wrapped some chicken livers up in bait mesh.
Anybody know where to get bait mesh ?

Check Cabelas and BassPro. I think it is a northern thing or maybe a northwest thing. If it is the same stuff I am thinking about they use it to fish for steelhead, trout etc

Call me lucky or something, but I never have any trouble with my chicken liver staying on the hook. Pantyhoses and these things, why. I keep my chicken liver on ice until I'm ready to use it on the hook. It is not frozen and the hook goes in easy. It stays on through the cast and until a cat hits it or I take it off. I keep all my bait in a ice chest. Works for me. I might just be lucky.

Look for the stuff in the hobby departments. Use the little sack material they use at weddings for the thrown rice/birdseed sacks. I found this bunch at a garage sale for 50 cents. Color dont matter and I used 1/4 of a bread bag tie to tie mine up. You can use thread and sew or what ever. Here is mine all ready for Saturdays tourney at Cally. Re-freeze them and then set them out the night before. You can really chuck them. The mesh lets the liver blead. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk106/FishInspector/DSCN0001-4.jpg?t=1241661406
I'm a humble fisherman in the service of our Lord. Started fishin at 5 years old and can't stop. I've owned a boat every day from age 16. I fish for every type of fish in every different way.

This is pretty interesting stuff. I understand it all minus how you would attach the sack to the hook.
Are you simply tying it to the hook with some thread multiple times?
I like the bread tie idea as it is less work?

Try www.boatcycle.com for mesh and mesh bags. I have used it to put soybean cake in at Amistad and it workd great. I think a fine mesh is available or try pantyhose

I bought the guaze but never used it after trying the thread, just tied the elastic thread through the eye of the hook with about 6 inches (it will stretch) or so to wrap around the bait a few times then wrapping it tightly around the hook shank so that it holds itself with out having to tie it again. Only with softer baits like blood or livers that tend to sling off your treble hook when casting. If it doesn't want to unwrap just slice it off with a knife or some stainless steel forceps with the scissors if you have them...

pantyhose work for this.... I have made several the day before i went fishing and used the the next day with success. just put the hok through it and cast... when you catch a fish just rip it off and put another on.

I made these up a few weeks ago. Fish them on TC J-hooks. Not one has been lost to a fish!
