Well, not fishing experience that is! Had the awesome opportunity to get my grandfather out of the house and into the boat on his home lake – Cedar Creek. It had been 6 months since he had fished, and he was just itchin to wet a line. We had decided to go sandbass fishing to put several fish in the boat. On the way out to our first spot, I asked him if he wanted to try a brushpile. He said since we had NO minnow that he would pass. Well, I drove by the pile anyway just to see what was on it. It was loaded with fish! I tied on a jig and put the pole in his hand. The rest is history. My 88 year old grandfather (papaw) dropped the hammer on the crappie. He swam that 1/16oz jig over that deep water brushpile like he had been doing it for years. Most of the time you couldent feel the bit, only see the line jump. He has it all together still and would outfish most of my friends. He can’t wait to get back on the water and he told me we can leave the minnows at home. I take in every minute when I’m with him…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hV1v9RrYoXE&feature=channel_pagehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmB4O3C84LQ&feature=channelhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-aOlh9cPQE&feature=channel

That's great!!! Anytime on the water with a parent or grandparent should be cherished. I wish I could take my grandpa fishing more than I already do.

Did PaPaw have a MGD on him. Guys PaPaw is a fishing machine that will rip the lips off of those fish. Great memories Mike.

Man can't beat that. I never knew my grandpa so you are truly a lucky man. Congrats on the fish and the time well spent.

Only thing that comes close to the joy in a child's eyes while fishing is the joy in a seasoned loved one's eyes while fishing.
No fish is too good for the grease.

my grandpa lived out there between Kemp and Mabank even before Cedar Creek Lake was made. I would give anything to be able to hear one of his fishing stories again.

Very nice job! Not only for the fish you caught but for taking your grandfather. Both of my grandfathers passed in the 70's but I still remember the times we had together.
