What are you looking to target? what is your budget? I have several boats/capts that I have fished with down that way. Willing to make a rec but need to know what you are really looking for.

Dads & Kids looking to do some deep sea fishing. Dolphin, Kinfish, Wahoo most likely. 1500 per trip or in that neighborhood.

I don't fish Freeport but I bet if you look up their Chamber of Commerce there will be at least a list of them. Most of the charter captains have a "Six Pack" license from the CG so they are limited to 6 passengers. You shouldn't have trouble finding someone to accommodate you.

That price range should be doable for a day trip, overnight is usually a bit more. Take a look at http://www.pesekcharters.com/
they run one of the few cats in the area and are very reasonably priced. I can also recomend Steve Hillman although his primary focus is bay I believe he does run offshore and I know that he is a great guy to fish with...

Good luck

Well, it started with showing up at 5:30am and his crew working on the diesel generator so we can have a/c. Now I know stuff happens, but he knew it wasnt working the day before and instead of working on it to provide comfort to a PAYING charter, he screwed around and got his wife set up to enter a tournament. Next, it was almost 7:30 before we left the dock, and Oh now he needs to get fuel, again, could have done this the day/night before. Finally we clear the Freeport Jetties around 8ish. Now as we head out he decides he is only going to go 11 knots to conserve fuel! 1-3 ft and hes taking his time! Finally got to a rig around 930 and start fishing. We pull up a couple of undersize snapper, a way undersized ling shows up at the back of the boat and he says somebody flip a bait to it, those are good eating! So we dont and he gets kind of flustered. We start to head to the 32s and ask to open the windows in the cabin to get some airflow (August heat), the deckhand mentions that the Capt. wants the windows closed so we dont let the sea air in!? Now the back door is wide open and we are 15 miles out on the open sea,So explain that one to me. So we close the windows, Capt comes down later and thinks one is open, so he opens the one he thinks is closed. Oh and I drink like a fish but not that day and this guy was chain drinking, and chain smoking,as fast as he was opening them he was throwing empties over the side. So later he comes down from the tower again and sees the open window, then says and I quote" Which one of you guys dont F***ing get it!!? I said to close these F***ing windows!" Needless to say a argument broke out and after that he tried to make up for it. We finally did end up on fish, at the 32s caught our limit of Kings to 35 lbs and I had a good Dorado. Final straw, the whole way we were careful about our trash and put it in the trash can, but on the way back he just dumps it over the side of the boat! He also cleaned the fish right at his berth and from what I understand in Bridge Harbor you are not supposed to do that.
Never again!

I dont think this guys first name was Mike, I think it was Steve. It seemed like he ran just enough charters to pay for his berth at Bridge Harbor, and he and his wife lived on their boat.

I recommend going to San Bernard river mouth and kayaking out about a mile with blood for chumming makes for great sharking.

Capt. Casey Cundiff. He is running a brand new BEAUTIFULL 42 Yellowfin with trip 350s. Might be a little more than you were thinking, but ill guarantee you hearing those engines purring a long at 60 will be worth it!

go big or go home.
