I limited out on sandies Fri Sat and Sunday in several different spots. Saline Bay, south of horse farm, and Chimney cove. The weird thing is the bite did not start till 10:30am and went till 12:30pm. caught 4 legal hybrids returned.

Any hump I could find on the graph at 16' When they would slow down I would just back off the hump to 19' or 20' and there they would be. I tried talking my guests into fishing with blue gill for big hybrids but when the sandies are hitting 2 at a time it is a tough sell.

Fished two evenings with my fishing buddy cully in his blue wave and we left the fish biting both nights. We have a few boat houses that really are productive at night and we hit those first . Before heading in we will try to fish a few new spots to add to the list. No crowds to deal with and the quiet sure is welcome. MO, good to see your light on at night.

I'm planning on going to Palestine for the first time this Saturday. I bought a map today and have been studying it. I see all the places that have been mentioned in this thread execpt the "Horse Farm". Anyone want to share the location of it? Sounds like a good time to try Palestine. Thanks for any help.

I'm not a regular on Palestine but have done very well in May there in the past. Beautiful lake and lots of friendly folk in the area.

So many fish... So little time.

ETF , horsefarm point is on the west bank , 3-4 miles

Cobb creek. -

If you had a drum , and a striped fish ( sandie or hybrid ) you would have had the
Palestine Grand Slam, with extra credit for the all on the same lure. smile

I hope to get out in the morning, put in at Camper's Cove in Saline Bay, drive 400 yards, and limit out by 10am. This being Palestine, success doesn't happen twice in a row. But, hey you never know.

Was able to get on the water yesterday at 7pm,
very nice conditions, caught 7 hybrids , all in the
6-8lb range. Caught them on a hand tied , oversized
crappie jig. Made some more today, but don't know when
I'll get to use them . It is rocking and rolling on the
deep end right now. Sux for the wind to blow like this on
my day off.

good luck
