Nice, I've had no luck lately at the vine. Hopefully it will change soon.

Lurker making his first official post here.

I'm thinking of heading out to Lake Grapevine in the morning and had a quick question for you folks. Is Twin Coves Park accessible for bank fisherman? Info on the TPWD seemed to indicate that it was only available for folks camping there in their RV's. Thanks in advance, if Twin Coves isn't open to me I plan on heading to Murrell Park tomorrow morning early so perhaps I'll see some of you out there.

If you go to twin coves, right before you get to the guard shack, there is a dirt drive on the right and parking for some bank beatin action

I just went out to the Vine to take a look at the water level during lunch...it has come up a bit. Hopefully I will be able to get back out there in the next few days.

Yup its up about 3.5 feet this weekend's storms. GV water level

I'm excited but it probably means I have to relearn where all the fish are.

Any floating grass held up around the banks....hopefully? Last year when we got all the rain I would have some of the best fishing at the Vine..

Went to the lake the last 2 days, the water came up so much that I'd have to wade out about 60ft to get to my spots from the last few weeks. I did wade out but couldn't catch anything.

I ended up with 1 crappie and 2 baby bass. Hopefully I'll figure out where the fish moved to soon.

BTW if the guy I met in the parking lot, Matt, sees this, give me a call tomorrow.

Roc, sorry I did not make it out too meet you, I got a late start but did end up catching 4 LMB on the South side in about and hour of fishing. Wife caught some white bass as well. Wade fishing is where it is at right now. Catch up with you next time!

No problem Red I'll meet up with you some other time.

I caught 2 more crappie and 2 lmb today, missed hooking up a half dozen more for some reason. I was lucky to find a good stretch of the park that didn't have large families setting out dozens of poles or swimming around with nets. I'm starting to get very annoyed, and the jet fleas aren't even out in full force yet!

I fished the 'Vine for the first time since last June and only had two bites and landed both, one small crappie and a decent sandie. Lake is lower than it was this time last year. I was amazed that all the stick ups that I had so much luck around last year were all gone. Thinking about heading out there in the morning.
