I'm heading to grapevine in a couple of hours and doing some night fishing. I know my way around the lake pretty well now but still not catching much other than sand bass.

Any tips for landing some crappie at night? I figure I'll go up in one of the coves with timber and put a green light down in the water and fish with minnows in about 5-10 feet of water around some wood. Sound like the right approach? Because I keep catching these little guys that look more like bait.
