Looking to take my dad out around the end of May on a guided inshore trip. Would prefer bull reds on lures, but not really sure if that is the right time for them; we usually fish freshwater. Would like it to be within a 5 or 6 hour drive of Dallas, but will listen to any suggestions. Any help? Thanks in advance!

The end of May is not a good time to fish for Bulls especially on artificials, IMO.

The end of may would be good for Shark Fishing..

Still if you want to fish on arties then trout and reds will be fine. Do you want to wade or fish from a boat?

Would prefer a boat unless you don't need to do too much work while wading. Artificials aren't a necessity, but would be nice. Not too picky; just want to get my money's worth!

Thanks! Any other suggestions? I came across the Redfish Lodge while doing some Googling; seems like it would be fun, but maybe a little expensive...anyone have experience with this place?

another good one on the middle coast is Capt. Gary Sills, www.navigatelifetoday.org. he and his partner, Capt. Bennie, finished second in the IFA tournament April 22. they found some big ones and had to release a couple over the 28 inch limit and most were caught on topwaters.

Kyle Burges out of Port Aransas. Last time that i went out with him, we had a problem of catching too big of reds and had a hard time finding slot reds. Average reds are going in size from 29-35 inches! KyleBurges.com
