I'm thinking something like $16K for a good used diesel truck and at least twice that for a 24'-26' used boat ... but that's gotta wait for at least a year or two.

Just wanted someone elses opinion. Is anyone elses boat worth more than their vehicle they use to pull it?Im having a hard time convincing my wife to let me spend more money on a boat than I spent on my truck. It's been that way for quite some time my friend. In 1987 I bought a new Ranger 373V Bassmaster Classic. Top of the line....Paid $17250.00 In 1989 I bought a new Ford F-150 Lariat Extended Cab PU. There were only 2 options not on the truck, captains chairs, and 4WD. For some reason, that year if you got captains chairs, you also got jump seats in the back instead of a full width seat, which in my mind, defeated the purpose of buying an extended cab P/U, and living in Granbury (Ordered the Truck at Everett Hooks Ford), I figured 4WD was wasted money.....Paid $14250.00 + TTL

I have a 10 year old truck I bought new that is now worth about $5k. I have a 20 year old boat I bought used that is worth about $4k. I spend a lot more $ on my boat than my truck. I am planning on buying a new boat in the next couple of years before I get a new truck. I will then be the guy with the $30k boat and the old beater of a truck. I guess I am on my way to being in the club.

So Ronnie, not doing your part to spur the economy, huh? That's unamerican. Or, maybe you should ask for some stimulus money.

Well I spend a lot of time driving its part of my job. So when I buy a truck it is fully loaded.
Last ruck I bought was 2001 F250 Lar, Power stroke 4x4 with just about everything on it. If I recall correcty sticker was like $42K.
Then last April i bought my first new boat since my truck has been paid for a while now. So yes at the current time my boat is worth more than my truck. However they both cost about the same new.
I have no plans to buy a new truck or boat anytime soon. In fact I do not plan to ever buy both at the same time and make double payments.....thats just my plan it works for me
