Stay off the boat ramps at the Vine...the game warden was out Saturday and he was not "cool" about it. First time I ever seen a warden dock his boat to jack with the bank fishermen....All I can say about Saturday is my wife kicked my butt and caught more fish than me. I kept telling her it was my magic lure and I now have to get more! (:

would you get in trouble for trying to catch bait at the boat ramp?

Today was rather strange. It started off dark and cloudy with no wind, the lake was a glass surface with carp and bass busting the surface. Of course I left my sweet corn at home and I only managed 2 small baby lmb. I gave up and headed to a cove, on the way the sun peeked out so I stopped and cast immediately before the clouds covered it up again. caught 2 sandies, before the sun went away. Got to the back of the cove and then the clouds had cleared quite a bit, but still no wind or waves. Caught me a new swimbait - the smallest sandbass ever: Then landed this 4-lb 7oz beauty (which I swear looks 1-2 lbs heavier than the 4 lber posted above). Then the wind picked up, the clouds rolled back in, and the waves started building so I walked back to the main lake. It took a while for the fish to move in, but I ended up with 7 sandbass and 7 lmb and 5 lost rattle traps

The day started slow, only 4-5 lmb in the first 3 hours, then my buddy showed up and the sandies came. Ended up with about 10 lmb and 12 sandies. Big bass of the day was this 5 lb even momma who jumped clear out of the water 3 times nearly giving me a heart attack each time. Luckily she swallowed my whole rattletrap and had 4 out of 6 hooks in her - 3 in one corner of her mouth and 1 in the other. weird, one ear looks chopped in half...
