I'm still looking for a couple of 9-10ft. crappie rods for fishing brush piles. I see that the Pro Angler and B'n'M rods sell replacement tips for their rods. Are these rods prone to break the tips under normal fishing use (jigging brush piles)?

I have 4 Pro Angler rods. They are quite durable. I managed to break 2 tips though. One because of my rod box and the other I have no clue how I did. I set the hook hard and the rod snapped in half. Ed from Pro-Angler replaced the tip on the second one with no hesitation. It's a good rod for an affordable price with a great guy runing the show. If you need a long rod these really couldn't be beat. I might be getting one of his dock shooters soon too.

I'll second the Pro Angler. It's super-sensitive and has a lot of bend and backbone - perfect for vertical crappie fishing.

I have 2 Pro Angler 10ft and 1 had a problem with the reel holder that broke one of the threads, Ed replaced it with no questions. Great guy to deal with. Awesome rods for the money.

Here it is man: http://www.proanglertackle.com/. If you want to try them out before buying it, you can borrow mine when we go fishing and see if you like it. Ed is over by Lake Lavon and I have had friends stop by and picked up stuff from him so if you have questions or whatnot, give him a holler.

Rods are normally not prone to breaking during normal fishing conditions. Many times, when a rod breaks under normal fishing conditions, it is because the rod has a "nick" or "ding" in it from the rods being loaded/unloaded in our vehicles/boats, etc.

I have 2-8ft and 1-9ft Pro Angler and they are great rods. I also have a B&M jig pole model BGJP 82. It is lite, a lot of fun and a good rod. IMO you can't go wrong with either one.

Just make sure it's either a BnM, or a Pro Angler.
They support CAT, and they are both great rods.
Both stand behind their products and will take care of ya if you ever do have a problem.

I'm always in a good mood when I'm fishing.

I like the b&m's the best in a 8-9ft. Ive broken several tips but no big deal.. Academy replaces them. Ive broken tips off of every brand I have other than pro angler. Only have pro anglers for trolling. Otherwise I suspect I'd break them too lol. Good thing about crappie rods they arnt too expensive.

I have used many brands and prefer the Pro Angler rods. I think they are more sensitive and they are very light. Only broke one on a hybrid.

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to try the Pro Angler rods.
