From spring to fall it is darn near impossible to fish those lakes, all those lakes hold bass though

do some tubing and drinkin until fall. you can fish dunlop for a few hours early and late. with the skiers and jet fleas these lakes are an accident waiting to happen all summer.

want some real fun go to the guadalupe and fish below the dam, bass and BIG STRIPER as well as trout, caught 6 stripers over 25# below the dam at horseshoe falls last time down there. canoe down and take out just above the falls throw up and let the bait come over the falls and hold on. guadalupe bass are best up in this area as very few ever fish it. JUST DON'T GO OVER HORSESHOE FALLS, REAL BAD IDEA, walk the boat around.

if you dont have time to hook up the boat try fishing the comal river next to the golf course for lmb's, smb's and rio grande cichlids. i lived on mcqueeney b4 the marina was tore down. i did best fishing the pads and docks near the bridge with blades, lizards and craws. oh, and if you catch a pig, don't kiss it. i heard comal and guadulupe county schools are closed due to the flu.

You are brave going to dunlap on the weekend. Maybe with Swine-Break '09 you will catch a break and not have 376 rec boats out there. Good Luck!

There is an old, narrow, rough ramp that is in a powerline right of way. My buddy uses it all the time. He drove and all I know is we went thru a sub division that is before the lake to get there. If you want more exact info let me know and I will get it 4 u.

Went to Dunlap today...LOTS of boat traffic east of the boat ramp, so fishing was REAL tough. Decided to try west of the ramp, up by the island toward the spill way. Landed a couple of dinks on Texas rigged chartreuse french fries, then rerigged with a small rattletrap. The fish seemed to be holding right off the bank, where the bottom was rock, in about 2 1/2 feet of water. Ended up with about a dozen small lmbs and a couple smbs in the late afternoon. All in all, nothing of any size over 1 1/2 pounds, but fun nevertheless. Keep flippin guys!

i've had very good luck throwing bandit 100 series crankbaits around Ponderosa Crossing in the Guadalupe River. I've caught both bass and large trout on those thrown on baitcasting gear from a kayak. You can launch a kayak under the bridge from one of the outfitters (forgot the name) for I think $2. You can paddle about 1 mile of river from there without a portage or going up or down a rapid.
I've caught bass all over that river from a kayak using small crankbaits and rooster tails though.
