We decided to go to the bridge and met Daveag99. Dave said we just missed BaffinBay. Dave gave us a heads up on the hole BB had just caught severl large perch. We walked down there but it was elbow to elbow so we went back to the bridge. We got in the water and stared moving upstream. We have fished this strech the last 2 or 3 times and it has been the most productive for us. Naturaly Seth started catchin fish right away. He found a submerged log and with every cast he would work that log and bring in a sandy. I finally found a spot with the same results. We ran out of minnows and I wanted to try the plastic minnows Tfly had told us about. I was working my way to a log to set my back pack on and found a hole that was deeper than my waders are tall. I couldnt get out fast and got soaked. This was my first time to really take on water in these waders and I had forgotten how unpleasent it is to have cold water working its way to my boots by way of any and all passages created by the body parts I'm trying to keep dry. That ended the fishing and it was a long ride home. We did take out 11 and gave them to a friend.

You didnt meet me at the bridge. Must be an imposter! I have been in the hospital all weekend. My baby girl was born on the 24th. I havent been to the creek in a couple weeks. Both mom and baby were released home on Sunday.

A pic of me and Kaylie...

Is the annual sand bass run for the RC over?

anyone taken water temp?
that will likely determine whether any more come upstream or if they all head back to lake

there are a few holes down stream that will hold the big perch for another month. like the 20 ft hole.... you have to have a yak though... but they should be there for about 2 weeks or so....

Thanks for your advice!

Wind from the north, fisherman does not go forth.
Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fish's mouth.
Wind from the east, the fish bite least.
Wind from the west, the fish bite best.

There still be hybrids, but you have to look for them. there is 2 holes upstream that i normally fish also around 10 to 15 feet that hold hybrid toward the end of the run that after a good rain.

Sandies still been in the creek at all? I've been up all night working so I don't have to go in today....gotta drop the little girl off at the day care and head to miller road and see what the post-rain bite is like, if it is at all.

last week

blue gills, perch, and other common fish mostly. pulled in a handful of sandies; only 2 where legal limit. was catch/releasing.

What i've been noticing is something is either beating up my minnows killing it really fast. most likely a small fish messing with my bait. shrimp and worms.... you are getting a bite ever 2 cast (blue gills and perch).

i would get some decent bites on my rooster tails though. nothing good produced though.

yah, sand bass run is done. it's time to get the boat running for crappie.
