Here's the deal if anybody that has any of the Vanish that they want to get rid of, just send it to me and I will use that sorry a$$ stuff until it is all gone. That way I will be doing you a favor, you can go buy some other kind(maybe you won't like it & can send it to me too)and you can quit worrying about the Vanish. Let me know and I will send my address. Thanks Johnny

yea I dont really like vanish either but it helps very light lures sink a little better. However, I almost always fish power pro braided line in moss green. (40 lb test) I love the stuff. It is ultra sensitive (can feel even smallest of bumps), it doesnt twist, cast very well (if your used to it), and you dont have to worry about breaking off. Ill pitch right into the middle of the nastiest stuff with that line putting me in place you couldnt fish with other lines. Also, it sets a far better hook in my opinion. The other day at choke I would never had landed this 5 lb bass that dove into thick hydrilla without the braid. There is only 3 small downsides to braided line as I see it. First, it can be a real pain when changeing lures because you have to cut it with a pair of sissors or sharp knife. some people use a leader to combat this but I prefer to not add anything to the line because I like it so much. 2ND, it doesnt do very good on suspending jerkbaits. I guess its too light. Third, when it backlashes it sometimes burries itself and is a pain to get out somethimes resulting in alot of lost line and $$.
All in all braided line is the bomb-diggidy though!!

I have used Vanish for all my leaders almost since it came out!............line has performed well and I have never lost a fish because the line broke. EVEN the 14lb hybrid we caught several months ago was landed with Vanish. ????

I contacted the people at P-line about problems with break-offs while setting the hook (Flouro-clear) and they told me to bump up the size a notch, which I did, and it did work for me. I stopped breaking off... of course that kinda negates part of the reason for using it. But it did cast and hold up well. I've never had a problem with regular P-Line, but it is kinda stiff and memory prone. I must say, the folks at P-line were super in their customer service. They sent me a few free rolls to try what they suggested after talking to their rep on the phone.
I sure appreciate the heads up on using the lube for the knots C. I'll sure be doing that from now on.

Those fish that you lost due to the brittleness of vanish most likely would have never bit your lure without it.
I am totally convinced that I get more bites in clear to stained water with flouro than without it, also I drive the hook deeper on long casts with it as it has very little stretch.
I normally use big game 15lb for almost everything, and briad in flipping heavy cover like on alan henry, but for clearer water or a tough bite, I will go to vanish. I would rather loose a fish that I hooked than to never get the bite in the first place.

Anybody got any empty Sunline spools? 8 or 10 lb is ok. I use Vanish but I don't want anyone to laugh at me. I'll just change spools.

Sean, I'm not saying, nor do I believe that other are saying that fluorocarbon line is a bad idea, just that Berkley's Vanish is not a good fluorocarbon. Especially compaired to some of the other fluorocarbon lines on the market. In short: Ug says: Fluorocarbon gooood! Vanish baaad! TFP
