Ok finally a day off to get caught up on chores....The LISD school trip.. once again a great success. Unfortunately we were forced to do only one trip this spring. Had a second afternoon trip set for Sunday but forecast of 30+ mph winds that day caused us to cancel the afternoon trip.
Set out that morning thinking we could get the morning trip in before the stormscame in. 4am out catching bait in 20+ mph winds and light rain was making me think otherwise....but as luck would have it things settled slightly by start time at 7am...
As the kids started showing up at the dock ( actually early) I easily noticed a few kids that had been on this trip before.I think out of the 8 kis that morning 4 had been on the trip before. So it looks like "Fishing with kids" class is so popular that he has some repeat customers

one kid inparticular (AJ) whom we had been talking about earlier wasa the first to show up....Hmm I thought.. Aj was the one last year who was so busy talking and raiding the snack cooler that he missed a record number of fish hitting his line...So after a little light hearted ribbing with Aj we all loaded up and headed out.
High winds kept me from getting to my recent fishing spots so we tried some out of the wind spots with only minimal success... after 30 minutes I tried to go east but after taking some big spray over the side decided against that move....Got a call from a friend he was doing ok in a spot i could get to so as we get there along the south shore I started looking around... Not marking many fish in the area I decide that i can now get to my recent haunts and head over...After doing what Fishing with kids called " prarrie dogging" I set anchor and dropped baits...
Within minutes the kids start hauling fish in the boat....as the action gets faster i notice AJ still hadnt caught his first fish and as I watch his line notice he once again is missing many... hmmmm....Then all of a sudden Aj gets his first fish and then another and another....guess he was just sand bagging cuz he really put a whooping on them fish once he got rolling !!
Im sorry but I cant remember all the other names but all the kids caught a ton of fish and had a great time...And once again I gotta say these kids were all very well behaved and alot of fun for me.
My goal at the beginging of the day was to stay out of the wind and just catch enough fish so each kid at least got a few... we did neither. we went right into the winds and as the dust settled we had 78 fish in the box and threw back more....I didnt even want to clean that many but just couldnt slow those kids down... Now mind you this all happened in a matter of just 2 1/2 hours...as always the kids whooped me and and tween the kids and the winds and fishing everyday i am one tired puppy...got a long nap on my shcedule today

Dan and Kids.... Thanks again for a great trip !! see ya'll in the fall
