That is a common carp in the 15# range

Looks like a Common Carp to me, nice fish! Congrats.

Yeah, carp will definitely take cranks now and then. They're opportunistic and enjoy feeding on dead or injured shad...so if they see what they think is a wounded bait fish cruising in front of their face, they'll definitely suck it up!
