I don't think so. I was down here three weeks ago. Not to say they couldn't have done it by now but I can guarentee you'da heard here if it happened. It is my believe that it is still going through the political process right now.
That said, I think it is inevitable that it'll be closed. So my question is, why in the hell did the state spend millions of dollars to dredge it, post Ike, if they're just going to close it back up. I come from the 'do not close it campaign" but why waist MILLIONS of dollars that could have been better spent if closing it is the case? Government at work.

My wife's family owns a lot of property down there and has for generations. My father in law told me last week that they were closing it. As far as if its already been done I can't say.
