Mike Reeds fish from the Wednesday before still holds it. That is when the paperwork goes through.

I will be there, as long as work cooperates. If theres 2 12+ fish in that lake, theres a bunch of 9's,10's,and 11's yet to be caught there cant be that big of a gap. So far that "gap" is 8.11 to 12.64 so I'll be out there closing the gap. Still cant believe the hanging scales were off that bad. I need to check Patricks live well for a big gizzard shad or a perch.

Was that fish weighed on the same scales that were off by over a pound ? If so that would seemingly disqulify it and the certified fish would be the record.

Both fish were weighed on the exact same certified scale.

To add to this comment Mike's fish weighed 12.67 on the same scales at the ramp. He took it and had it certified at Brookshire's on the exact scales as Nick's. I think we were all amazed at the certified weight of Nick's at least I know I was.

Dean,

Here is something else I noticed. When we got our total weight it was 17.21.

We weighed in 3 fish. So minus Nick's 13.78 (on that particular scale) that leaves 3.43 lbs on the table.

One of of those remaining 2 fish was 18" and probably weighed somewhere in the 3.5 - 4 lb. range. The other fish was a 14" fish and weighed at least 1 - 1.5 lb. So by doing the bare minimum on my weight guestimates that would total us out @ 18.28 lbs.

The scales were kinda funny that night. I sure thought that was a SAL fish though... too bad.
