Hey guys. Finally got a day off tomorrow and was wondering if someone might be able to point me in the right direction to catch a mess of crappie. I'm pretty new to crappie fishing and would just like to know what lakes are producing. I'm in the Carrollton area so lakes nearby would be a plus, but I dont mind driving. Unfortunately, I don't have a boat so I am bank-bound. Not asking for secret honey holes, just a little general information. Thanks for the help guys.

Scott

The fish are in spawning mode all over. Where ever you go, I would try a jig and bobber and or casting into the shallows. Look for any stickups, lay downs, sandy type bottom, or shallow vegetation and you should do good. Good luck!

Yep! What Kid Krappie said. Look in the bank fishing section, might be some recent comments there as to where they are finding Crappie from the bank in your area. Bank fishing probably is the ticket for tomorrow with the windy conditions, and they are in the shallows right now anyway, so don't fret about no boat at this time. noidea Good luck, enjoy your day off.

Thanks for the info guys. Went out to the Lewisville barge on Friday and caught nothing but dinks. Probably over a 100, lol. Went out to Lavon today for about 2 hours. Caught lots of dinks and these 5 keepers about a 1ft deep. First time on Lavon and I think I like it! Caught enough for dinner and had a blast.
