I went yesterday too and found some good males (13 inchers) in 1-2 feet. the bigger ones were in the snags. I also found some on the outer edges of the coves in the stumps and sticks.
I only caught one female and she was in 7-8 feet (14+ inches and full of eggs). I hooked a HUGE female in the shallows but she got off (I assume she was female by the color).
It took quite a while to find a good spot, or maybe they turned on in the afternoon.
Good luck

I went the last 2 days anywhere from 2ft to 12ft and caught 1 small bass and 1 small bluegill, no crappie for me. Oh well, try another spot today. Good luck to you all.

I went yesterday from 3:30 to 6:30 to Mallard park and most of crappie we caught were 9" to 9 1/2" long. We only had 4 crappie, and 1 sand bass that were big enough to keep. No record breakers for sure. At least we caught something.

The Lewisville crappie are in full spawn mode now. I have been finding them everyday for the last two weeks, at the same palce, and same time. The pattern is not an easy one to 'happen' on to. The only way I've been able to pattern it so solidly, is going every day. Stick with it guys....they're there.

Dont go up hickory creek. I tried that yesturday and didnt catch anything.. I have heard people are catching sandbass up there but very few crappie. I fished around old alton bridge and wasnt a lot of water. Maby where the creek runs into the lake where there is more water might be better

There have been 50 cars at the old alton bridge every day for the past 6 weeks. I hope someone is catching something. It breaks my heart to drive by there everyday on the to and from work. :Bang:

well, we caught 7 crappie yesterday and 1 sandbass, 4 of the crappie were only about 7" to 8" but the other 3 were 13 to 14 and the sandbass was 13, all in about a 4' deep part of the creek, got them on black and chartruse (sp) with niblets. the 3 females had eggs but not alot, must be dropping them now.
