The best memory of time I spent with my father include that stretch of river. Gods country.

I had the pleasure of hunting on a ranch that had over a mile of access to that section of crystal clear river over ten years ago. Both my Dad and I had both given into the long walk to the river and sat down to take in the sheer beauty while sitting on a cliff overlooking the river (above the indian drawings on the wall section of the river) last day of hunting and I spot a nice cull buck at about 200 yards and take it I watch the deer fall in the scope, my dad screams, "you missed him there he goes"...different buck, he was standing right beside the one I shot and I never saw him...hes running and my Dad ended up shooting this deer at over 300 yards running and turned out to be the biggest ever taken on the ranch and the biggest my Dad has ever taken. There we were overlooking that beautiful river sharing the father son moment of a lifetime. I wrote an article into Texas Trophy Hunters and they published it in 1996. Sorry to move off of the subject of fishing but, I will never forget how virgin that river bottom is, thanks Ryno for helping me relive that.

Ben, I'm having trouble understanding your question. You want to know what kind of fish you have stocked in your pond?

I caught LM and SM. The fish I was unsure of was this one.

Ryno,

That looks to be a smallie, but if its not, then I bet its a guadalupe bass, or maybe a rock bass. We have Gaudalupes in the Colorado and the lakes along that chain like, Buchannan, LBJ, and Travis.

Thanks for sharing the pics and the story.
