In my opinion the females only come in to the bank for a few hours and then leave. (Usually in late afternoon or at night.) So how would you fish em at night? How deep do they go back to in the evenings?

I think it's different on every lake and maybe its different every year. At Aquilla the first move after the spawn (or at least right now at the end of spawn is for them (the good Fish) to go straight to much deeper water and the cover spots up to 20 feet for about two weeks then they return to the mid range 15 to 12 feet cover). On Navarro Mills they just split (most go deeper and the cover to finish out their spawn (not as deep as Aquilla but like maybe 10 to 15 feet) and the remainder stay in very shallow 1 to 2 feet up into mid May. On Richland Chambers they go slowly back out after the Spawn, big fish working their way out slowly and the Dinks they are already out on the cover to 20 feet to 25. I think its different everywhere the KEY IS TO MOVE and keep moving until you find what you are looking for. If you don't like what your catching - Just MOVE

Everyone I have caught recently have been over 10 inches! I think its due to the size of lure im tossing. The little ones dont want anything to do with them.
mmmm fish!

No dinks here, only barn doors. My ratio is 6 to 1 the other way. Get off the bridges and deep brush and find the shallow fish.

1 in 6 would be a dream at JP... Dinks?....now that seems nothing unusual if you are fishing JP... I don't mean to trash JP (I do love JP), but it's true! 1 in 20 at JP is the norm so don't feel bad.
I don't know which lake you are refering to, but if you are catching dinks that are abnormal to that certain lake, then you need to move. Crappies tend to travel in school... Unfortunatel, JP doesn't offer any classes higher than kindergarden, therefore, some bigger fish has to mix in with the kids...heheheh That's my ratio there also! I've been fishing the barge at Lynn Creek a lot lately since I've been laid off work, and though I usually catch 20 or so there, only manage about 1 keeper. All those I miss are probably lake records!!

Tech i had that problem the other day on LBJ and the big ones were very shallow. So like they say, "keep moving" they are somewhere....or....we are going to have a mess of big'uns in a few years!
