i hate hearing about the so called "aggressive breeds" its all in how a dog is raised and some breeds take a little more training and attention than others but those breeds are normally the ones that make the best dogs.

good lookin dog you have there!

aww, that is so cute! My grandparents had a Rotty when I was growing up, and that was by far the best dog that I have ever met...so sweet, and so gentle. Looks like yours are great friends!

its just her being protective.. she'll learn that if you invite them in it is ok but if you dont then so help them god.. thats the good thing about rots and pits, they are very VERY loyal dogs if they have been raised right and will protect you to the death

do remember, dogs can pick up on an owners emotions very quick, especially very protective ones. if your uncomfortable with having someone around (i.e. mother-in-law) they will be too.

Every Rotwieller I have come in contact with over the years was a big softie. The only knock I've had against 'em is sometimes they don't realize how big they really are. If you are not ready for 'em when they want to get "Eye Level" with ya, they'll put you on your arse! eeks
As for "pits", I gotta tell this story. Many years ago while I was in the Navy going to school up in Great Lakes, IL, me and 2 other fellas decided to leave from base and head back down to LA for a long weekend. We drove thru the night and was to drop one of the fellas of at his parents house in MS. Well we rolled up to the house in MS at 3AM and we all got out to stretch our legs. Now this house was out in the middle of nowhere and it was really quiet, 'cept for frogs and crickets. They had one light on outside and all of a sudden this shadow appears from outa nowhere and jumps on me. There was just enough light for me to recognize the biggest, ugliest, pit bull I have ever seen til that time. The whole time he has his paws on my chest and staring me in the face, he is growling this deep gutteral sound that could only be described as coming straight out of Hades! I froze and probably wet myself a little. 'Bout that time the feller we're droppin of tells me to pet the dog. I croaked out that he was nuckin futs and I wasn't about to move a muscle. He finally convinced me to pet the dog and the whole time I'm pettin him that dog is making that god awful noise. The fella we dropped off explained that the dog was just purrin like a kitten and that was the noise he made when he was happy! Turned out to be a really sweet pit, but that noise still gives me goose bumps! bolt

Rotties make great pets. Its always fun to see them playing with the chihuahuas at my old job. The little rat dogs would run circles around and underneath then nip the rottie on the chin.
