I have a Kenner 21 with a pocket tunnel. Since bought out by Tracker the Mako, Nitro and Kenner use the same hull.
With a jackplate you can run on plane in about a foot of water. You need 2 feet to or more to get back on plane.

mako bay boats are heavy, if you looking for shallow draft, stay away

I have a 2008 Mako 2101 tunnel hull w/ jack plate. I can run in 12" of water and need about 18" to get on plane. Boat has been great and really is a dry ride in rough water but it is heavy.

I bought the 1901 2 years ago. 115 Merc. Great boat - I would have rather had the 22' with a 150 but it was out of my price range. Where are you going to buy it?

As you will see from my signature I have a kenner. Its the same boat. Its a very heavy boat for sure! I have a 200 HP merc on it and the main problem i have is when I get in the shallow i have to put the engine up. So even with the heavy boat it does great in two feet of water. I do not have a jack plate but thinking about one just not sure if its worth it or not?

How does the blue wave pure bay compare to the 22ft triton?

Get the Mako you will love it. I have a 22' Offshore 200hp with a jackplate. The boat floats in 10". They make great lake boats.

I prefer the Kenner/Mako/Nitro hull over the Blue Wave. It has a deeper "V". I run mine offshore when conditions allow and prefer the bow of the K/M/N over the BW.

I have to agree the V does make a diffrence when the water get rough if that matters to you. I know I love it not gonna say it the best boat but its not a bad one that for sure. I still need to look into the jackplate....anyone have any advice on this boat with that setup?
