Well, I went out this morning and landed some NICE slabs. Probably caught 10 total, only 4 throw backs. Size 14 shoe for ref. The big girl almost went two pounds! Also, caught 10 bass as well. Good day at the Vine. (Sorry for the poor quality pictures)

I'm going out there this evening to try and catch some crappie. I just got a small boat last summer and have fished Grapevine with very limited success. Lots of sand bass. Some largemouth. No crappie. Any tips for catching the crappie?
I plan on going up into Twin Coves and getting back in the shallow timber on the west arm. Supposedly the shallow water coves with wood are the places to catch 'em this time of year, right? I'm still learning and apparently Grapevine is not the easiest lake to figure out.

Yeah, anything that provides cover for the fish. Crappie are VERY structure. You should be good if you are fishing timber in 2-10ft of water.
