I have an older Motor Guide Brute trolling motor that stopped running when switched to 24 volts yesterday. It will run when switched to 12 volts. Checked both sides of the toggle for 12 and 24, the 12 volt side shows to be getting 12 volts and the 24 side 24 volts. Checked it at the foot switch once again got 12 volts and 24 volts...checked the head and only got 12 volts there, nothing for 24. When using the ground at the head and checking the foot switch I got 12 when volts when on 12 but nothing when on 24. My question is could the foot switch be bad or would it be the wiring to the head?

any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like one of those type of things that have to look at to properly diagnos. checking voltage going to motor then checking voltage at head, could be loose connection at the head?

it was the toggle switch for charging the batteries that was the problem...replaced it and now all is well
