this is my first post in about 2 years. Got there at 8:30 this morning. Lots of surface activity. Fished for 3.5 hrs. It was overcast til noon. Caught around 80 to 90 sandies and a few hybrids. Only about 10 sandies were keeper size. For an hour stretch i hooked a sandie on every cast. All were caught on chart slabs and rooster tails. i had to wade in pretty deep to get to the sandies and to avoid getting snagged on the rocks. Im hoping sandies will get bigger as we get closer to summer. still it was fun, fun, fun.

How about catfish? Any "stray" whisker fish?
I was out at Jones Park ealry ,first light, down the wall a bit, and caught a 2lb 15 oz(Berkley digital) "GasperGoo"/Drum! Was a good fight on my lil 6.6 Light/Medium IM7 Silstar Rod.
After that the wind kept blowing my "rigs" back in to the wall..would have been okay but 4" of water crashing around didnt prove much and my one bottom rig out ina bout 3ft of water didn't produce either. I do like that N-NW wind though.

The catfishing is pretty slow. I fish near the Harbour in Rockwall. Only caught 4 channels last night. The biggest was a female at about 3 1/2 pounds. Also caught one very pissed off softshell turtle. On a side note I did see some gar in the weeds getting ready to spawn. I guess that means the lake is finally warming up.
