Definatley not something I would want to run into. The way I see it the only good snakes a dead snake.

looks like a gardner snake...its harmless no such thing as a gardner snake... it's a garter snake, but yes it's harmless

only 4 types of poisonous snakes in texas. copperheads, moccasins, rattlesnakes & corals.
it aint one of those so its okay.

Auminer- Definitely Texas Garter snake and definitely harmless. They will lay into you if you can catch one but non-venomous.

looks like a gardner snake...its harmless no such thing as a gardner snake... it's a garter snake, but yes it's harmless I'm pretty sure everyone knows what I meant. Are you an English teacher or something?

that snake is Junior.
btw, never swim in fresh water in florida, louisiana, east texas, etc. gators are there waiting to chomp.

Yup it is a garter snake. Haven't seen one in these parts. But we used to play with them up north!

On the Trinity this weekend just east of Crockett I saw my first gator. Bout a 7 or 8 footer. Saw my first otter too

Definatley not something I would want to run into. The way I see it the only good snakes a dead snake. This prejudice is common but unfounded. Most snakes, even poisonous ones, are good for keeping real pests, such as mice and rats, in check.

They're very wary of people and prefer to stay away. Attacks are very rare. I would love to get close enough to one to get a nice picture, but they don't stick around long when they see people. The ones in Florida are less fearful of people though. But definitely nothing to worry about here in Texas.
