Now would be a good day to call in to work, load up your kayak/canoe and head to the Llano River. They must have had some good rain 'cause the river is rising to decent floating levels. Much of the river is usually shallow and it is very rocky and can be a lot of work to float and fish, so if you can take advantage of high water levels, you can fish some beautiful stretches of river that a lot of folks don't get to see. Just use caution and common sense, keep an eye on the rain in the watershed and the river gauges. There is no place I'd rather be right now.

I love that river. I was in Junction for a month last spring and was able to fish almost every day. If I'm not mistaken, it is supposedly the second cleanest river in TX behind the Devils.

Didn't it just start raining? Seems pretty fast for the river to start rising - is that typical of hill country streams/rivers?
