Plaining on taking a trip down to the Freeport area within the next few weeks. Any suggestions on good areas to fish around Freeport? Any Species, Trout or Reds mainly, by boat or land?

Fished the Freeport jettie today 4/15/09 before the wind increased to 20 mph. Trout & Macks were caught before noon.

Live shrimp under a cork works great.

Can drive down bluewater highway and fish the bay systems on your left, which are drum bay, christmas bay, then further down is cold pass. We use arties but im sure shrimp would work just fine!

hey fetch_up, have you been catching any decent fish up that way? I was thinking about heading up to Freeport here in the next couple of weeks.

i bet you could fish the jettys and piers at night and fish the bay systems during the day and get the most fishing for the amount of time you have to spend there, or if you find some fish in an area you can get to from a road you can fish with lanterns. also what kind of boat do you have ive been wanting to take mine for awhile but i dont know how it will do in the shallows. when are you going to be down in the freeport area?
