I am in the catfishing section all the time but my father-in-law is looking for a guided trip either inshore or offshore for one of his retiring employee's and his wife (employee's wife not my mother-in-law! :)) If anyone could help I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I've hired a gentleman named Gearge Herzog before, and he's a great guy and will put you on fish in the bays. He's out of Ingleside, Texas, and he usually launches out of Conn Brown Harbor there in Aransas Pass. I can't find his card, but he should be listed in the Ingleside phone book.

Heard good things about Kyle on 2coolfishing.com..

I tell you what would be fun.. A shark trip with Captain Billy Sandifer.

Either his beach or nearshore trips..

I've used George as well a long time ago. Have you been out with him lately and if so how'd you do? Looking to get back down there as soon as possible.

I hired him in June08, which was the last time I was on the coast. He had a pretty cool set up with a nice CC 22' or 24' Carolina Skiff-style boat, aerated live well for the live piggy perch, and quality tackle set ups. He put us on fish with 5 minutes of leaving Conn Brown Harbor. We did not limit on specks, but caught several quality fish. We limited on redfish in about an hour with all the fish being the upper end of the slot limit. I had my boat down there, but left it at the motel that day we hired George. He was very helpful in pointing the kind of water and structure he was looking for, and then we used his teaching to find fish in other areas. I didn't ever go back to his spots, because I figured that would be rude. He was on his cell phone the whole day we were with him pointing other guides to spots that we had caught fish, so I thought that was pretty cool seeing the team approach being used by George and his network of guide-buddies. They put him on spots as well, so it was a two way street within his group of buddies. He fished us in spots along the Aransas channel, all over Redfish Bay northeast of 361, Aransas Bay along the Lydia Ann, and several more that I haven't recognized on the maps, and we were able to apply what he taught us in the Morris and Cummings cut and around Pelican Island. He was likeable to boot. I would hire him again for sure.

You looking fo fish inshore or offshore, and either way, for any specific species?

Let me know, and I will do what I can to help you with some options.

Best,

Larry

Hea all,
Just jumping in on this. My Dad lives in Ingleside and we are heading his way in about 4 weeks. He said we could split a guide trip this time so keep the information coming. Please if you know some one good with the wife and kids and can help you learn how to fish the coastal waters at the same time send me a PM or just keep posting. The way I look at it I need to contact some one soon, if they are good they will be booked up!
Thanks for the help.
