I've got a Lowrance 522c. When I zoom in the new zoomed in picture remains on the screen only about 6-7 seconds and then reverts to the wide view. I can't make it stay on the zoomed in picture. What am I doing wrong?

Check to see if you have it on auto zoom. If you do, cancel it.

Can you zoom-in (and stay) if you're viewing a saved trail that was not zoomed-in when created?

Yes I do it all the time when following a trail along a ledge.
