Is that what you are "Fishing" for people to say? Come on man. That fish weighs between 4 pounds and 12 pounds. Who freakin' Cares. You erased the background so nobody else would FISH your obvious "PUBLIC" pond. You ask what people think, then say they are wrong. Spend 10 bucks on a scale.

Agreed! Trying to edit out the background of a picture is dumb. We are all fishermen here, there is no reason for that. If you want to keep your PUBLIC pond a secret DONT POST PICS!!!

a good indication is looking at a persons hand and the gill plate. also is the tail. you can see that the tail on the 13 pounder is FAT!! the other fish.. not so much. she is heavy with eggs but looks to me like a 6 pound fish with an additional pound and a half of eggs. so maybe 7 and a half. plus he's holding that fish straight out in front of the camera so you can take a fat 5 pounder and make it look like a giant!

mike long out in cali wrote an article up on how much weight a teen bass gains during spawn from the eggs. i'll try and locate that and post it up. BUT it was under a pound for a 15 pound bass full of eggs if I remember correctly.

just my .02

p.s. buy a scale.

Nice fish even if he caught in the middle of downtown Dallas with a dip net on his lunch break.

If that fish isn't 10 pounds, it's real close. thumb I have a fool-proof, scientific method that would allow me to calculate the weight of the fish within one ounce +/- using only the picture. Unfortunately you have chosen not to share the pond's location with your fellow anglers so you are S.O.L. stir

PS-On second thought that fish 4 or 5 pounds tops.

im gonna have to say no to the top pic unless the guy holding it is 7 ft. tall and ....Your fish looks to be a solid 9....just a little shorter than the one in the top pic and less bulky but holding a lot of eggs...so they are probably close to the same size.

Excellent fish no matter what the scales say!

two of the fish (the 10..20 and the 10.40) i have in this pic were both certified..you can use these pics to help you get a better idea.

Looks like an 8-9 pounder to me. Seems bigger until I noticed it was held far away from his body, which usually makes fish appear a bit bigger in photos.

Nice fish any way you look at it. Congrats. I have a hard time believing the fish in the top pic is over 13, and I should know.
