Blakemore RoadRunners and any kind or color plastic jig with bobber. Throw it past a target then roll back slow. Spider riggin' is having multiple rods sticking out around the boar so it looks like a spider crawling on the water. Verticle jiggin' is sneaking up to a tree or brush and puttin' it straight down. Save yourself a few years of trial and error and order Mr. Ernest Paty's Crappie 101 video.

I am also new to crappie fishing, but did find some from the bank. Just found a few fallen trees and fished around and in them with minnows. I was told with minnows the color you use is always right lol. I got 18 keepers and a couple big ones or atleast compared to the others bigger. I was fishing with an Eagle Claw #2 i think and had the minnow on bottom I slid a small worm weight on my line before tying the rigged hook (comes in packages) above that used a torpedo type bobber with a weight ring around the bottom. Just hook the weighted end on the line and it will sit straight up and down. My first time actually trying to crappie fish. My boat is having the scag repaired at the moment so bank fishing it is for a couple more days.

they wont beat the crappie 101 video +1 Yep! You can't beat the info in the Crappie 101 video! A few minutes of comparison watching will prove it.
