Late Fri afternoon we caught a couple of fish around Pier 121 on live Shad. Slow fishing, but off of work. I say good day.

All fish were released.

That is a hybrid striper or a white bass X striped bass, wiper, etc . Careful man, hybrids must be 18" and you can only keep 5. Same with stripers which both can easily be mistaken for sand bass.

yes but you can tell thats A Hybrid, white bass are more skinnyer and shorter gearth, then wipers are longer and fatter but thay both are good catching and good eatin but be carefull can be mistaken like gstrong82183 said

LOL. Sandbass have 1 distinct strip that goes straight through the tail. Hybrids have 3-4 solid stripes that go through the tail.

LOL, not sad at all. I had the day off, I was able to fish, I caught a couple of fish, and at sundown Lent was over and I had a couple of great beers. Not sure why I was not smiling, but I should have been.
