Got this one tonight between 9:50 PM and 10:30 PM. My initial guess was between 6 and 7(buck fever may have gotten the best of me!) Upon further review, closer to between 5 and 6! Anyone out there turn down a chance to get one in either of those ranges in that short a period of time?

Red/chartreuse tube, on a 1/16th oz UNPAINTED jig head, 6 lb test--Quantum Optix 10 UL reel, and Quantum UL rod, 5.5 ft'er.

Caught across from Texas Bar and Grill, in the mouth of the culvert, by the NOVATIONS building below the flag poles!

Security guard making the rounds in the NOVATIONS bldg, waved and smiled as he was checking the doors to the weight room where the Secret Service works out.

Also caught this 12 inch or so "dink"!



Both were released unharmed once the photoshoot was over.

You can see on the big fish, that one side of mouth and jaw shows signs of having gone through the wars!

I look at the bright side of this: At least a few more of us get to enjoy the thrilling fight these brutes can give us, since a few before us were kind enough to release these fish to fight another day!

i would agree on 5 pushing 6 lbs verry nice fish.

i fished with that kid you where talking about the other day at bachman, fished with him thisevening for the 1st time after watching him fish from the other side. that kid has finsses man he would cast, in the same spot if he know there where a fish there 100 times till he cought it.... good kid,

Thats a very nice bass Rudy. I also went to LC Canals tonight. I was there from 10:45pm - 11:30pm. I ended up catching two LMB and two quality Male Crappies. All caught on Red/Chartreuse tube on a 1/16 unpainted jighead..

Tuesday, 4/14/09, Bfail and I hit the canals, and over by the Marriott Hotel. S-L-O-W!!

Caught this bass and Two crappie the size of the one in the pic, and Brian caught some warmouths!





That crappie was well on its way to full spawning colors, in fact, by the time i got it home and on the fillet table, she had turned BLACK! It was so black, in fact, that I thought it was a male, but once cut open, she had fully developed egg sacs! Both did, in fact.

The LMB was spawned out and very skinny, lucky to make the 1 lb. range. All caught on red/chartreuse tube, on 1/16th oz UNPAINTED jig head on UL gear. Bass was released.


WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15th: Two more respectable keeper crappie,(in full spawning colors) one bullhead, 2 warmouths, and one HUMONGOUS BASS that broke off!!!







On one of the pics you can see the jig, red/charteuse tube, 1/16th oz UNPAINTED jig head, UL gear! All fish including the bullhead and the HAWG that broke off hit it! This bass was BIGGER that the big one i posted earlier this week, WAY BIGGER!

Went way up into the culvert and sawed line off on the concrete entrance! It's kinda old and jagged under there!

Nice fish rudy. I'm goin to have to hit up the l c canal. I meet that young gut you were talkin about at bachman. Man he has tackle that blew my mind. Dude can talk bass turkey like you said. I even got some helpful hints from him also. Thanks for the sharing the pics.

Got there VERY Late tonight, 11 PM to be exact, fished till 11:55 and it was slow, BUT got a DANDY YELLOW BASS, 10.5 incher!
