and if you catch a PB or just a really huge one, then that makes the day awsome, even if its the only one you got!

Just getting on the water is a good day. If I catch any fish it's a great day.

I have 5 in my family, so 10 or more decent sized channels is a good day because it makes for a really good meal.

FishHauler has it right about Ivie when he mentions that big quantities aren't the norm... I consider a good day on Ivie (what I consider my home lake) to be 1) find some bites, 2) put the kids and/or bride-to-be on some hook-ups, and 3) hopefully clean and bag a few. It's always a bonus when the boat performs with no break downs and the weather cooperates. I have never caught a limit on Ivie (yet), but I don't necessarily need one to call it a good day.

There is such a difference in fishing and catching I end up just fishing alot. But I am learning and am ready to be catching. If i can catch 5-6 keepers i am a happy man. Just fishing is so relaxing to me sometimes i don't bait the hooks lol.

That is a lie I want to catch a limit everytime but don't think I ever have limited out. Just now starting to fish from a boat so i can hunt them.

people tend to post more when they limit out! smile

I like being out with a cold beer when its warm, and a couple of decent fish makes a good day as of late I am really liking the water turkey trees because it is almost like hunting as well as fishing!

When I catch enough for a meal, anything after that is a bonus. I think the best fishing trip I had was the other day when my daughter landed 5 blue cats before I could get my rod in the water. Now I know how my dad felt the first time I did that to him. That was a very proud day on the water to see her face and her confidence build. thumb

I love to "just be out there," but I really feel like it's been a successful day when I get to bring a few fish home. I rarely catch a limit, but even if I did I wouldn't keep them all because I don't want to clean them all. If I can get about 8-12 good fillets (4-6 fish) I'm a happy man!!

I don't live for the thump, but I sure do like it.
