Hit the creek upstream from Lemmon today after work( i work at that RadioShack, virtually on the shores of the creek). I did not have much luck, but ran into Eric. Eric is a Freshman at WT White HS, and one of the most accomplished fishermen I have had the pleasure to hang with! Eric has bass gear that would make a tourney aficionado shake his head in wonderment! This kid has it all and is accomplished in using it! He can talk bass fishing turkey with anyone for as long as anyone wants to! When i walked up to him,(he was up near the Embassy Suites hotel),he was dropping a bass jig straight down into the water, no more than a foot from the bank, near a big log. He said there was a big bass under there and he was trying to get her off the nest. Instantly he hooked her, she ran under the log, and spit the jig out. Patiently, he lowered the jig in the same spot again, and instantly the bass shot under the log, and spit it out again! he explained that when he walked up he saw two bass, but only one was grabbing the jig. He decided to drop the jig at the end of the log ,maybe 18 inches from the bank, and instantly, BAM! Fish on! Here is the fish: Mighty Nice fish! I thought it was the female, but he explained that it was the male! he said the female he saw and hooked, and lost, was MUCH BIGGER! Eric is an extraordinary young man, definitely knows his stuff! If you guys ever run into him up in the creek, hit him up for info, he fishes it almost daily and brother it may pay to listen to what he has to say! Rudy

Bachman Lake ... certianly never would have thought Bachman as a good bass fishery. I understand that they have horsepower restrictions, but is it acceptable to launch a larger boat and exclusively use the trolling motor? Where would be some good locations to start bank fishing?

fear me, i fished bachman this evening i started in the creek at like 6pm not a bite useing the creture, then i moved under the lemon street bridge i got one that was about 1 1/2 lb's.. and i had some left over minnows from lewisville last night i poped a few on them just small ones tho cought a nice crappie on a minnow hell i just got about 3 dozzen minnows left i might be there to marrow the trick to fishing the creek i learnd in the past week is you fishing the nw hwy side and sight fish cause the banks are a little higher and you can see the fish on the beds, and what not, SMALL AND SLOW is the way to do i notest the only bigger bait thay where hitting was the fluke...... but anyway, just keep trying dude, i said the same thing i was mad i was like i can't catch a bass in this damn lake untill i got a little info from the guys on the fourm, when fishing the creek try: Shllow crank baits, Fluke's Buzzbaits And Jigs, them creek bass seem to dislike Plastics fishing the main lake: thay love the CRETURE i know that lol Finesse Fish It "Thats all iam saying" LOL

I have that same theory on plastics in the creek. I was throwin a 7in motor oil zoom worm put it right on the nose of a bass and nothing.Just swam away.I try fishing a jig but dont know if im doin it right. I'm goin to have to try those creature baits on the main lake. Whats color is hittin out there.

Guys,
The bass in that creek are "super-spooked" because there is too much angling pressure there. They have probably seen every type of bait there is. Plastic works as good as anything. The trick is stay small. Anything will work as long as you are patient enough to catch only 2 or 3 bass in a 4-5 hour period. My experience has been that if those bass can see or feel you they will not take your offering no matter how "good" you think you are. I have taken friends out there that are very experienced and they get frustrated everytime because of those stubborn bass. I have a couple of "honey-holes" along that creek that consistently produce....blue gills and smallish crappie and occasionally dink bass under 10 inches. You just have to experiment in different places.
If you want Bass and Bass consistently there are much better places to fish for them and with less hassle.
That part of Bachman Creek is where I go when I have the itch to catch bluegill.

If you go up bachman creek to where it gets very clear you can catch hundreds of blue gill on bread and a small hook. They are tiny though. You can see the bass in there too since its clear but they dont bite much.
