Fishing continues to be excellent on both lakes. Saturday- The Parsons returned to Calaveras from Kerrville. Had an absolute blast watching the boys and Mom were fish out. Ending the morning with 75 channels and 1 redfish. Sunday-Rick,Becky,Alby & Sam of Freer,Tx. Winds behaved long enough for us to get on the lake and whack some fish. Ending the day with 100 blues and lots of laughs. Tuesday- Jim and Cathy of New Braunfels,TX. Not a bad birthday present of 50 fish. Wed- Calaveras- John Levi joined me again for a half day this month, we caught 20 or so channels pretty quick, so decided to try our luck at freshwater freight trains.Ended up catching 5 reds, keeping three and 1 hyrbid..pretty darn good morning. All fish coming in 1-13 ft on calaveras and 2-57 ft on Choke. Big Marv's and Shad and Team Catfish 5/0 hooks baited with shad. Also have been field testing some new braid from Team Catfish. The line is awesome and performed flawlessly this week, it's not available yet but soon. Last date available for April is the 24th...May is open and winds should lay down and fishing should continue to be good. Tight lines Cliff

Nice job Cliff Looks like we should have a good mess of fish for the get together next weekend. Did you have a lot with eggs in them and if so did they look ready to drop for spawn? Sure do wish you and Carrie could join us. You'll be missed. Mike

That's cause I'm sneaky...LOL..nah...we never had to move so we stayed put...Glad yall wore them out! Mike- reguarding spawn..some fish still have eggs but most spawning for larger fish has already taken place. Still some stragglers but for most part with our warm water temps out there we spawned late fall and heavily about 3 weeks ago. Cliff

Are you SURE you want to coach and give this up? You look pretty busy, but moreover, HAPPY!!! Lol! Might try a night fishing trip on Canyon next Monday. I'll let you know how it goes. Steven
