I just got my new truck. A 2009 chevy colorado crew cab 2wd with the 4cyc (yuck). I have a 18' sprint bass boat, does anyone know if it will be ok to tow my boat with this truck? and should I expect any issues with getting stuck on truck ramps???

Traction maybe. Did you get a towing package ? ( lower rear end gear ratio, transmission fluid cooler)

Not a very good time to be asking that question. Did you check the trucks towing capacity before you bought it? No matter now. It's yours. Oh and welcome to the forum

+2 on the tow package, should be fine. just expect a little more wear on the tranny and engine since its a 4 cylinder but that means you just got to make sure you keep up on the maint.

more wear on the tranny, not as concerned about the engine. However though specs say you can tow it, not sure about the tranny. You can but I wouldn't

I got an O7 Colorado with the Five Cylinder, Z71 package, it wont pull melted butter across slick ice...

I tow with a little ranger 4 banger. Must admit I was worried at first. I'm sure my boat's not as heavy as yours (about 1K to 1,200 loaded) but so far have had no real trouble with anything, and I think the old ranger 2.3 is much smaller than the colorado's. Just don't expext it to pull like a full size p/up. Ain't gonna happen. The small truck inline 4 cylinder's like high RPM's, don't be afraid to run it up there in the power band. Make sure you have your OD off if an automatic. At 70, running over 4k RPM and will do it all day, redlines 5.5. I'm still not brave enough to tackle ranger hill on I-20 (I suspect they call it that for a reason. It will eat ranger's towing a boat LOL)

good luck with the colorado. Mine caught fire in my drive way with only 1500 miles. My insurance said 48 colorados and canyons burned up too. total loss. It towed well with the overdrive off.
