Talked to Benbrook Guide and he gave me some good advice = THANKS Kyle and I launched about 4:00, 1 hybrid, 1 big LMB and 30 yellow bass on first stop at the dam on a 3-5" bass assassin in 14-25' water. The smaller fish hit a white or charteruse 1.5 oz slab. Second spot we hit some mid lake humps in 25' water using slabs and had about 4 keeper white bass and about 40 small whites. The bigger fish were on the back side in a little deeper water. Birds were working the flat north of the swim cove on the west bank and we caught about 35+ white bass that were 13-15" long in 2-8' of water ripping 1/2 oz chrome/blue rattle traps. One more stop and more white bass -- I stopped counting at 75, so I am guessing there were more that 100 caught. Pretty good afternoon for not expecting to catch much with the weather changes. I think we kept the hybrid and 1 limit of the bigger white bass for a little fry over the holiday. HAPPY EASTER -- stay safe out on the lakes!!!

I hear ya Launcher...I had to finally just leave work a little early = way too much work lately!!! Birds were working about 6:45...so I might try again during the week for a quick trip. Benbrook Guide is right, it is starting to heat up!!! Anyone wanting to learn the lake and get some Benbrook tips might think about a trip with Kerry. I should have spent some time looking for hybrids, but we kind of got side tracked playing with the white bass

Thanks, BG, for the advice, and Fuzzy for the generous report. I'd like to get on there with some ultralight gear and try to help with that yellow bass "problem."

There's been a Benbrook since the early 50's. My grandparents used to take me fishing for crappie on the east side in the trees (most of which are stumps now) and I've seen them come in with 100-150 at a time. Course that was waaaaaaay before size and bag limits. I was a young teen in the 60's and spent many a night curled up in the bow of the boat sleeping while they fished.

I keep forgetting to take the camera...but we are getting ready to get a new one for the house so the old one will be a boat camera!!!! Well...Kyle and I cut getting off the lake tonight a little TOO CLOSE. Saw the rain, heard the thunder then saw the lightning...ooopppppssss. Got shocked a couple times while laying all the rods down on the deck and ran for the marina - got the boat on the trailer just as the first few drops fell. We launched about 5:30 and nothing at Richardson's slough. Went back to Mexican ridge and could not hook up so went to trolling...oh well, had to admit it. Then at 6:15 - 7:10 the birds were going nuts = had to leave!!!! Ended with 2 hybrids and Kyle said 42 small white bass...all on slabs and humdingers. We hit Whitney this morning, but I am not going to give that report since there is a striper tourney down there next weekend. But it was a good day
