i dont know about the ramp at loafers but if you launch from there i wouldnt make a mad dash to cedron. anywhere from the dam to the island(now the penninula) also try little rocky.

Headed out in the morning. I'll be coming from Waco. Just looking for the best and closest ramp. My 22' Mako is not that small.

Big_... Don't know about the ramp at Loafers. I think HighTechRedneck posted in an earlier thread that Loafers was good to go... Like Jeremy says the ramp at McCown is in good shape.. when I am on the lower end towards the ramp I use Walling Bend but it is a steep ramp and pulling out a big rig might tax your tow vehicle. I launch a 22 XPress with an all Alum Trailer so it is fairly light... I live in Glen Rose so those are my best choices right now. The run to McCown and Cedron Creek area is an easy one, just use your electronics and stay in the main chanel up close to the Cliffs on the runs to and from. The fishing on the lower end has been good in the Whitney Flats, Bird Island area... actualy the fishing has been good all up and down the lake all spring...

I launched at Lofer's day use area this morning. The ramp is in good shape, 3 or 4 other big rigs used it as well with no problem. I didn't expect the wind to blow like it did, so I didn't venture to far with my two young daughters aboard. Caught a few small ones and one jumbo crappie.

Walling Bend Island a.k.a. Bird Island due to all the birds roosting out. Harbor Master can launch anything. Ramp was built when lake was 520 and was added onto when they raised the lake to 533. Never a low water problem.
